Information Superhighway

That’s what they called the internet 20 years ago long before the content network exploded into every conceivable idea known to man. A large amount of that content came from online home business owners.

While communication companies were busy trying to pave the first few inroads to the vast wealth of  knowledge that had already been placed on servers around the world entrepreneurs were looking for faster and better ways to get more. Not all content is created equally but because of the open structure of the internet more quality content is pouring in every day.

Today the internet can be accessed as quickly to get information as it can be to increase the volume of information available and in my household it happens at exactly the same time.

Education

My children use the internet as an integral part of their home school experience while I’m busy uploading content to a variety of websites.

A close friend of mine no longer teaches at a brick and mortar university but communicates with her college students almost exclusively via email.

Whether working for another company as a sub contractor, acting as an independent business entity or simply working from home, the internet has become an invaluable tool for continuous learning.

More Than Knowledge

As important as this vast sea of information is to a business owner who wants to learn something quickly it is equally important to expanding their bottom line.

The content network is the soup into which specific brands are poured in and drawn out. Profiles and details on individuals, business names or products and services all swim around in the same pool.

This has been understood for a long time by those that deal in intellectual property. Software, E-books, music and many other products that can be purchased through download rely on the content network to store and display their goods.

With so many traditional business owners left struggling in the current economy the internet and specifically the content network offers some encouragement.

Your Good Side

Models are often told which way to face during a photo shoot (I don’t know why they’re all gorgeous from any angle) because the photographer or the ad agent thinks they have a ‘good side.’

The beauty of the content network is that other than negative criticism that may rear its ugly head for the most part ‘you’ as the business owner control most of the content. Let’s face it, you’ve never looked so good.

Having the ability to control what your public sees is important from a business perspective… having complete control is amazing. It is so easy to position local business owners in a positive light because almost without exception… it’s the ONLY light shining on them.

The Price Is Right

Best of all from a marketing perspective is that other than websites you purchase and pay hosting for, the content network is free. You can write articles, post videos, store pictures, create profiles and write in forums as often as you want.

While social media is becoming a content network in itself the trend is to merge more and more social platforms together because in the big picture they’re just a smaller part of the overall content.

After all… you’re reading about the content network, on the content network, in a website that has been designed to bring free training.

Regardless of what you do or what you’re looking to get into the internet is full of great content in the form of articles. Research can be tedious if you don’t get beyond the traditional search engines. Article sites allow you to search within their databases for results that may or may not show up on the first page of search engines.

It is the intent of marketing professionals to respect SEO and obtain the best ranking possible. However, it isn’t the intent of people doing serious study to be limited in their discovery to content crafted for the purpose of ranking well.

The most popular person isn’t necessarily a VIP any more than the most popular article will answer the riddle someone is seeking to solve. Quality content is valuable content. Always endeavor to post articles that speak to deep needs.
